In my own search for things to do inside, to reduce TV time, I explored Pinterest first. While there are some amazing science experiments and crafts that would be fun to do with kids, sometimes it took forever to find something that suited us. Pinterest is a great place to get started, but it wasn’t the answer.
Searching further, I finally found funology.com and I have to say, this site feels absolutely endless with things to do.
Funology.com boasts pages and pages of activities, and not only indoor ones. They have activities for travel, for summer, for winter, to play in water, to play inside and outside. There are games and recipes, jokes and crafts and magic tricks, but my personal favourite section is the science section. It’s full of experiments that explore the scientific method and illustrate the things we know through science with ease.
The science section covers biology, physics, chemistry and more. One experiment, gives kids an opportunity to “save the environment” from an oil spill.
Exploring this site with your kids will surely build their critical thinking skills, their scientific mind and build on their natural curiosity about the world. I highly recommend checking it out.
Have you used funology.com before? What activities did you do? How did you like it? Do you know of similar sites? Let me know in the comments.
