This New Outlet For Godless Parents Almost Feels Like A Godsend

Did you see what I did there? I know you did, you brilliant little heathen.
As you may have noticed, the majority of what I’ve been writing here lately has been centred around answering questions from other godless moms and dads. I tried to figure out, briefly, a way to turn this into a discussion where heathen parents can seek advice from more than just me. I just sort of let the thought settle in the back of my mind, though, and continued on with my regular thing.
It was early last week and I still hadn’t really found an answer to that, when I was contacted by another godless mom who asked me if I knew of any Facebook groups that catered to just atheist parents. I didn’t. It hit me, that’s what we can do! I have since found a few other atheist parenting groups, but I also decided I was going to start my own group linked to the Godless Mom Facebook page so that the people who reach out to me for advice can pose it to the group as well.
So, that’s what we did. We created Godless Parents and it’s a totally safe place to open up about the struggles atheist parents face in their day to day lives. There are no religious people allowed – not because there aren’t amazing religious people out there, but because just having religious people present is going to make some of us feel uncomfortable fully opening up. We can swear and blaspheme and express our frustrations with the religious world around us without worry.
So, if you’re a godless mom or a godless dad, please head over to our new parenting group and ask to join. We would love to have you and hear about your awesome kids.
If you like what I do here and want to support my work, you can chip in here or become a member here.
